Maytown is a city in Kerlile and the former capital of North Fleura prior to the dissolution of that state. The city is the location of the prestigious Maytown Academy for Girls where Daughters of the Council are educated. Maytown remains a walled city to this day, and access to the city is strictly guarded.
Many Kerlian Councillors have been born in Maytown, as many Councillors go to the city while heavily pregnant in order to give birth in a safer environment.
In 2018, a Maytown congregation of the Church of the Goddess alleged that then-Councillor, now-President Rebecca Arnott had murdered a minister upon church premises. This was never proven.
After retiring, former President Joanna Greenwood moved to her family property in Maytown.
The University of Maytown is the top university in Kerlile.
The Maytown Meerkats are an all-female elite baseball team based in the city.
History[edit | edit source]
Prior to the formation of Kerlile, Maytown was the capital city of North Fleura, and previously all of Fleura before the Partition of Fleura. The city has existed in some form since antiquity, with ancient ruins often unearthed during construction projects. It is believed that the city predates the formation of Fleura as a kingdom; and may have been a settlement during the first days of agriculture in the area.
Access[edit | edit source]
Foreign citizens are forbidden from entering Maytown; which maintains a city wall and strictly controls access to the city. The Maytown Academy for Girls which educates Daughters of the Council is situated in the city, and is thought of as the reason for the strictly controlled access. The majority of the population of Maytown works either in the school, the university, or as servants to one of the Council of Kerlile families. The city's population is roughly 75% female; and male Kerlians require proof of a job offer or a residence in the city to be allowed entry.
