The Church of the Goddess is a religious institution in the Matriarchy of Kerlile and the official church of Kerlian Singularist Secadualism. It is the primary faith of Kerlile, and the faith of Councillor Natalia Hart. The religion was founded in 1927 as a variant on Secadualism, a Western Hesperidan religion.
Kerlian Singularists believe that during an event known as the First War, the male God Mascalin enacted revenge upon womankind in retaliation for the Goddess Feminea taking lovers despite doing the same thing himself. They view Kerlile as a state dedicated to worshipping and supporting Feminea in the millenia-long Divine War.
In the Church's parent religion, Secadualism, the two deities are at eternal war, fighting in the Realm of the Divine which causes wars to break out in the mortal Realm of Life. Disasters on earth are a result of these divine battles, in which demigods and the souls of mortals sworn to one side fight on behalf of their two commanders. The war will last until the Victory, when humans will be ushered into a new world. Kerlian Singularists are devoted to ensuring Feminea wins this war.
