The First Battle of Annatown was a battle between the Lauchenoirian Resistance and the Lauchenoirian Junta which began the Second Lauchenoirian Civil War in earnest. The battle, which took place on June 12th, 2018, ended in victory for the Resistance, though that victory would be short-lived, as the city would be captured by Gonhog in the Second Battle of Annatown three days later.
While the coup d'état that began the war happened at the beginning of May, the war did not begin in earnest until Sonja Viratnen-Alvarez attacked Annatown with the Resistance on this date. The government forces quickly retreated, not expecting an attack. After the Resistance gained control of the city, several nations began to declare war on the Junta. Viratnen-Alvarez did not remain in the city after the battle.
