He grew up the son of a wealthy fisherman company owner and Alexander himself worked for his father until 1891 when he became involved with the newly created Center Party of Slokias Islands, he quickly rose the ranks in terms of position until he was elected to the House in 1904. By 1908, he was the head of the opposition to the government of the Left Party. In 1910 he ran for President on the issues of fixing the economy and as a moderate. He won with 47% in the first at 58% in the second round. He became the first Ren president of Slokais Islands and the first from Point Lee.
