The Sex Education Act
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Description:
The United Nations,

DEEPLY DISTURBED that in many Nations:
-A- Sexual education is lacking
-B- Education about female sexuality is often unheard of and no mention is made of the clitoris, the statistically most erogenous zone for women, which is not directly correlated with reproduction
-C- Lack of quality sex education can lead, many times, to unplanned teen pregnancies and unnecessary abortion

OBSERVING that:
-D- Sex has two important functions: reproduction and pleasure
-E- Sexual activity is a common activity, contributing to the happiness of many people, worldwide

URGES:
-1- All Nations to organize and secure some sexual education courses for all, before the age of 18-years; and
-2- All Nations to include in these courses, information about male sexuality, female sexuality, opposite-sex relationships, same-sex relationships, masturbation, birth control methods, abortion right, AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases without any value judgment

  Proposal for New UN Resolution

I would like to put forward and idea for a UN resolution. Its just an idea at this stage but the effects could be proufound and may even increase prestige to our region. I had no ideas on how to formulate my thoughts about this issue so I just jotted down a series of questions which could be answered through a resolution on Genetic Rights - yes i know its another rights resolution but the issues are important because it isn't covered in previous resolutions. These are the questions i thought needed to be answered:

Who owns my DNA?
Is my DNA a tradeable commodity?
What Protection do I have if my DNA is stolen and used for criminal or commercial purposes without my knowledge?
Do I own my child's DNA?
Do I have the right to have a "designer" child in order to provide a part for my other sick child?
Who owns The Human Genome?
Can I be discriminated against because of my genetic heritage?
Under what circumstances would I have to disclose my genetic heritage?
If my DNA contains a genetic defect which I could pass on to my children - do I have the right to a "Designer Baby"?
If I am adopted - do I have the right to know my genetic heritage?

And the big Question:

Should Human Cloning be banned/allowed/regulated?

The only UN resolution that touches on this issue specifically is resolution #56 - BioRights Declaration, which guarantees clones or genetically altered persons the same rights as unaltered people.

Do we as a region have a position on these issues?

Do you think we need a resolution on these issues or should it be up to individual nations?

Does anyone have a great idea for developing this into a resolution?

Although I'm new here - i'm not out to get a quick feather in my country's cap by getting a resolution through - you've all been so great at welcoming Lawtonia, We in Lawtonia just wish to convey our gratitude by participating as best as we can.

Description: Description: We, the United Nation, recognize the basic human rights of all individuals, including the transgender people. The Transgender Equality Act seeks to extend civil rights and fair treatment to members of the transgender community.

Believing that Human right is a rooted in belief in human dignity, and that everyone, including members of the transgender community, deserves to be treated with dignity and respect regardless of gender identities or expression

Defining a transgender person to be any person who has a gender that is different than the sex that he or she is assigned at birth ; any intersexes person; anyone who expresses their genders in a way that contravenes societal expectations

Definning Gender Identity as a person?s innate sense of self while gender expression constitutes one?s presentation of his or her gender.

Taking into account that everyone has the freedom of choice as outlined in the resolution of Universal Freedom of Choice to act in a way that might or might not fit with conventional gender stereotype as long as it does not infringe on the freedom of another person.

Recognizes that biological factors, such as one?s brain receptor for hormones, plays a role in the determination of one?s ?brain sex? as opposed to one?s ?physical sex.?

Acknowledges than that Gender Identity Disorder is a recognized health issue that
involves a person?s brain sex being different than his or her biological sex.

Convinced than that sex reassignment surgeries and its related medical procedures should be legal and allowed in order to alleviate the psychological pain and suffering caused people with GID.

Acknowledging that many transgender people are discriminated against in all area of life, including in employments and health care.

Noting with satisfaction that a significant number of human right laws have already been approved by the United Nation.

Noting with Regrets, however, that none of the past human rights resolutions made any mention on the right of the transgender person.

Be it resolved that the Transgender Equality Act be recognized and declared by the United Nation.

Article one: One?s gender identity or expression shall be included as a prohibited ground of discrimination; any transgender person should receive the same right as everyone else residing in all U.N member countries.

Article two: Considering that a transgender person is much more likely to be targeted for hate violence, law enforcement authorities should be encouraged to access anti-transgender training so they can adequately and sufficiently deliver justice to members of the transgender community.

Article 3: All Anti transgender discrimination in hiring, promotion, training and dismissal will be illegal in all U.N countries.

Article 4: Everyone has the right to wellness psychologically and emotionally therefore; Sex Reassignment Surgeries and Hormonal treatments should be legal and reasonably accessible to people who have GID. Medical personnel are not allowed to refuse treatments to a transgender person based on discrimination against transgender people.

Article 5: Transsexuals who had undergone sex reassignment surgeries will have his or her new gender be legally recognized. Other transgender people, including cross dressers, feminine men, and masculine women will continue to be legally defined by their biological sex at birth.

  AIBL To Play Foreign Exhibitions

Mar. 2003 - The AIBL has announced that it will host a Spring Training series in Miervatia City, capital of the Confederated City States of Mikitivity. Mikitivity is located in the far north, flanked by the Thuvian and Solace mountain ranges, making the climate inhospitable for outdoor sports. Mikivity has announced the construction of a large domed stadium to accommodate the players, and will be used for concerts and other events throughout the year.

The series will be played between the two-time defending champions, AcR Arcos and the celebrated team Adam County Cats. Adam County's lineup features 2001 Pure Slugger SS Ronald Joe, 2-time All-Star RF Anthony Graybill who led the league in walks last year, the 2002 Rookie of the Year SS Thomas Lemay and the 2002 Stolen Base leader CF Alfredo Braun. Adam County has not released its pitching rotation for the spring, but will most likely play All-Star Allen Bellinger in one of the games.

AcR's rotation will feature legendary righty Eugene Barnes, who has won both of the Pitcher of the Year awards given so far, 2001 All-Star and 2002 Strikeouts leader southpaw John White. Its lineup features 2001 All-Star 3B Michael Peacock, 2001 Gold Glove C Adolfo Bowling, 2002 Pure Slugger LF Benjamin Bush, 2001 Gold Glove CF James Callahan and 2002 Gold Glove SS Mike Corson.

Compared to the wild winter last year, the free agent season of 2002-2003 was rather mild. Adam City signed starting pitcher Christopher Cruz to a 4-year, 7.5 million J a year contract from AcR, but the Arcos held onto Eugene Barnes, signing the 32-year old to a 3 year contract extension, paying 13.5 J per year, leaving Barnes as the highest paid player in the game.

  UN Sex Offender Registry

Here's a proposal I've submitted...I've tried it many times and it never got close to passing. I realize it needs some work, and there are a few things I will change before re-submitting it. Tell me what you think.


AWARE OF UN Resolution #22, Outlaw Pedophilia, but seeing that some cases of rape and molestation do occur illegally, we propose the following:

- Every UN member nation MUST start a Sex Offender Registry that shows a picture of each sex offender, along with their picture, name, age, address, and the type of people they have targeted in the past. Any country may add more information to this if they would like.
- Sex offenders will be defined as someone charged with committing a non-consensual sexual act, such as rape, molestation, etc.
- Sex offenders cannot live within 750 feet of an educational facility (schools, libraries, etc.)
- The Sex Offender Registry must be made available to the public, either in a web site or in books or packets that would be available somewhere in each town
- Sex offenders must register their address every time they move, and must get a new picture taken every 2 years, so that the registry is always updated
- The persons living in the same area (1/3 mile distance) of a sex offender will be notified by mail of their address when the offender moves to the area
- Any offender that does not register will be fined $2000 and could face 10 months to 3 years in prison

This act would help families keep their children away from sex offenders, and alert the public to their whereabouts.
It may be taking away some of the rights of the offender, but if innocent children are at risk, then it is necessary.

As long as it isn't a full season sort of thing, there might be enough interest in my nation for exhibition games, and that would certainly justify the costs of multi-purpose stadiums (stadia?).[/quote]

REAFFIRMING the United Nations? stance against poverty and suffering,

TAKING NOTE, via the impoverished throughout the world, of the cyclical nature of poverty across generations, and of the detrimental effect of poverty among a people to the surrounding peoples, nations, etc.,

OBSERVING previous success of so called ?microcredit? at enhancing the lives of people or peoples currently trapped by deprivation, as well as the society surrounding them and future generations among them,

DETERMINING that citizens in UN nations, who have the ability to participate in ?microcredit? but do not, might trade more regularly and freely via ?microcredit? (which the UN believes to have greater effect than many forms of humanitarian aid) if they had information regarding ?microcredit? and assurance of its financial security and honesty,

DETERMINING FURTHER that the distribution of such information would help free the trade of microcredit and make it more economically feasible for microcredit transactions to occur:

1.DEFINES ?microcredit? as a financial transaction, or the trade of loans for relatively small sums of money for the purpose of sustaining life and employment, the repayment of which is supported by local communities alongside the individual(s) who received the loan;
