The Rei Publicae (English: Republicans) was a political group during the Iustitian Civil War. Founded by the coalescence of several classical-liberal oriented groups within the Iustitian Republic around 1834, the Rei Publicae ultimately assembled a volunteer army in 1837 and toppled the Iustitian provisional government, led by Solomon Clarke. Although the Rei Publicae splintered and functionally dissolved by 1840, major leaders of the group went on to create the Maximusian Constitution, the cornerstone document and legal basis for the modern Maximusian Republic.
