History[edit | edit source]

First Political Era[edit | edit source]

The Left Party was founded in 1891 as an alliance of Left-Leaning thinkers by Howard Price Gonzalez. Though it has its roots even earlier in the Republican Left Party during the colonial era. During this time the Left had strong support among the well-educated as well as rural farmers. However after 1898, when Gonzalez retired the party was left somewhat unstable. However the party was taken in a new direction by Henry Banks who began to appeal more to urban working-class voters through promises of public investmeant in education. Though failture to this eventually cost the party support and by 1908 lost the House to the Center Party.

Second Political Era[edit | edit source]

In 1910, the Center Party on a platform of rural reforms and social security won rural support. In 1914 this grew to a landslide for the Center Party winning 60 of 94 seats. For this time period the Left Party attempted to build its support among the working class. After the Opening Day Confict of 1915, they gained some support in 1918 from left-wing working class voters. The party however lost much of its support after not support the 1919 Protests, after this the party name became tarished and the party was nicknamed the "Stuffy Pocket" Party for its alleged corruption.

Third Political Era[edit | edit source]

During the 1920s, the party became the primary leading voice of dissent to the Conservatives who held very high support over rural voters and managed to win over working class voters, election after election. Millard Zhao was the face of the party during this time yet never managed to get over 40% of the popular vote. In 1938 after the death of David Livingstone, George Ramirez led a Left Party resurgence as a truly center-left party. Thus began a 15 years of party rule, winning elections with wide margins thanks to both urban and rural support. Programs like the National Jobs Program and the National Health Department remained staples of the 1940s and 50s. In 1955, the party faced its first serious opposition with the center-right Reform Party.

Fourth Political Era[edit | edit source]

In 1960, Juan Costa won the Election and by 1963 the party had been offically banned and its members were forced to be Indpendents and were lated banned from politcal office in 1965. Party leaders were arrested and jailed much of the members went underground. In 1967 it was many former Left Party leaders who organized the protests though they were at odds with the mostly socialist San Sabla Collective that fought against the Costa Regime for two weeks.

After Costa was couped by the Army of Slokais Islands all politcal forces worked together to lead an attack that retook parts of New Liverpool. By 1971 the party has been restored and Robert Best was voted as the head of state until the elections of 1972. However the Conservatives came back in force and the Left Party once again was the leaders of the minority. In 1985 Howard-Alexander Walker became a Prime Minister leading with the Labor Party and Center Party.

Fifth Political Era[edit | edit source]

During the 1990s, Brooke Weasley went after the Left Party and its base many times, In 2000 the party worked with the Greens to win and by 2005, John Adama was the Prime Minster with a alliance of left-wing parties. However since 2010 the party began to loose support, some say it was the Greens growing appeal, some joined Socialist-Labor, the final straw was in 2018, when the National Alliance won 87 former Left Party seats. Since then the leadership has been mostly anti-Chavez left-wing politcal forces. As of 2022, New Liverpool 34th and Siverado 9th are still held by the Left Party.
