The Territory of Bjeorg, also known as Bjeorg Autonomous Region, is a semi-autonomous territory of Libertas Omnium Maximus established in 1992 following the 1991 Bjeorg Conflict. Though the territory has spent the past three decades distancing itself from Libertas Omnium Maximus culturally, Bjeorg maintains many economic and political ties with Litudinem.
History[edit | edit source]
Following the forcible ousting of Brian Smith from his position as leader of the contested Bjeorg Republic by the Aurora Novo Militum paramilitary militia group in August 1991, Simon Calder entered into negotiations with the Maximusian government to bring about a cease fire and end the Zamastanian intervention. These talks culminated in the Portland Accords, which officially acknowledged the Bjeorg territory's secession and established a new government, led by a non-executive unicameral legislature. Although all but one of the lead Bjeorgite conspirators behind the 1991 revolution were pardoned, they were banned from ever holding office in the new government.
