Yamunda Patel (born 14 May 1973) is the younger sister of Councillor Nirmala Patel of Kerlile. She is a former employee of the Kerlian Prison Service in the Restricted Region, and currently works for the Kerlian National Police as an interrogator. She is a staunch gynarchist and has been at the heart of seven separate torture scandals. Her daughter, Reena Patel, a reformist, once appeared as a contestant on the game show Pyramid of Misfortune in Xiomera.
Early life & education[edit | edit source]
Yamunda was the second daughter of Anita Patel, following Nirmala Patel. She was educated at the Maytown Academy for Girls alongside other Daughters. During her education at the Academy, she won numerous awards for high academic achievement in a number of subjects; however also has a record of receiving numerous punishments for bullying and cruelty to other students.
At the age of eighteen, she attended the University of Grapevale to study Persuasive Techniques, a uniquely Kerlian discipline that involves both torture and creating propaganda. She specialised in the enhanced education side of the discipline; and graduated with high marks at the age of 21 when she immediately began working for the Kerlian Prison Service.
Career[edit | edit source]
Yamunda worked in the Restricted Region as a 'persuasive technician' (euphemism for professional torturer) from her graduation until the official shutdown of the Region in 2019. It is believed that while in this role, she was responsible for the deaths of a number of prisoners; however faced no sanction for this due to her position as a daughter of Anita Patel.
She now officially works for the Kerlian National Police, however many believe she is continuing in her prior position in a covert manner. Her current role involves interrogating suspects for high-level crimes ranging from treason to murder; who have not responded in earlier interrogations by other officials.
Controversy[edit | edit source]
Yamunda Patel has been accused of the use of illegal torture on eight separate occasions throughout her life; two of which were before she reached the age of majority (16 in Kerlile). She was accused at the age of nine of playing a part in the kidnapping and torture of an eleven-year-old boy who lived with his mother, a cook at the Maytown Academy. No charges were ever brought against her. She was further accused at the age of fourteen of removing a finger from a teacher at the Academy; however said teacher was later listed as a missing person and has never been found.
The most recent accusations against Yamunda Patel have been that she locked up and tortured her eldest daughter Reena Patel in May 2023 following news that her mother, Anita Patel, had been murdered by an Aurora hired by a rival Council family; in the belief that Reena possessed information regarding the murder. Reena remains in a coma in a hospital in Wosteaque, after being taken to Zongongia by a group of other Daughters.
