The Slokasain Legislature is a legislative body of the Federation of the Slokais Islands. Their job is to pass and regulate bills and laws as well as to call for presidential elections or to override the president. The leading parties are the Centrists,National Alliance and the Conservative Party. Seats are based on provincewide proportional rep are based on votes in a district, 1 rep per 75,000 votes. This is a change from the 1990s when it was based on districts called "Wards" or "Regions". These still exist today only within postal addresses and street names. Elections are held every 4 years or can occur every 2 years depending on if an election is called by a majority vote for the Legislature at the start of a new session. The number of seats is updated every 5 years based on the census. Whatever coalition has a majority of seats, can have its leader become Prime Minister and appoint cabinet members. Though officially the President of the Legislature manages daily proceedings. The President of the Legislature is usually the leader of a collation partner, although may be any MP.
