Jian Chiu (born 30 December 1966) is the eldest daughter of Councillor Lia Chiu and the heir to the Chiu seat on the Council of Kerlile. She is the mother to Xia Chiu and two other daughters.
Early life
Jian was born in New Fanshe Region, Kerlile, to Lia Chiu during the tail end ofChiu Yijun's time on the Council of Kerlile. At the time of her birth, her mother worked for Yijun as a political advisor. However, shortly after Jian's second birthday, she left work to focus on raising Jian and her three sisters. Jian therefore grew up spending holidays at her family's estate in New Fanshe, while attending the Maytown Academy for Girls during term-time.
Military service
Upon turning 18, Jian joined the Kerlian Women's Liberation Army where she served for six years, leaving with the rank of Major - but without seeing much combat, as Kerlile avoided involvement in wars during this period. Jian left the army shortly before the outbreak of the Kerlian Civil War in order to have her first daughter, Xia Chiu.
University studies
Jian returned to education in 2013, at the age of 47, after her youngest daughter Mei turned sixteen. She studied politics and governance at the University of Maytown, graduating in 2017.
Family life
Jian has three daughters - Xia Chiu (born 1991), Yawen (born 1995) and Mei (born 1997). Her two younger daughters were born in the Council of Kerlile's war bunker, location unknown, during the Kerlian Civil War.
