The Legislature
The Slokasain Legislature is a legislative body of the federation of the Slokais Islands. Their job is to pass and regulate bills and laws as well as to call for presidential elections or to override the president. The leading parties are the Centrists,National Alliance and the Conservative Party. Seats are based on provincewide proportional rep are based on votes in a district, 1 rep per 65,000 votes. This is a change from the 1990s when it was based on districts called "Wards" or "Regions". These still exist today only within postal addresses and street names. Elections are held every 4 years or can occur every 2 years depending if an election is called though this has happened most of the time. The number of seat updates every 10 years, so for example the numbers of members will update in the 2022 election if called. Whatever colation has a majority of seats, is able to have their leader become Prime Minister. Though officially the President of the Legislature runs sessions and begins the debate.
