Ecanta is a central province of Lauchenoiria, and was historically an independent country until it was colonised by Valahandia from 1417 until the 1760s. Ecanta was then briefly independent again until they were invaded by their neighbour Costeno. In 1922, Ecanta became part of Lauchenoiria. The capital of Ecanta is Annatown.

2023 Elections

In Ecanta, the location of several major battles during the 2018 civil war, the Liberals and Communists have continued in their downward decline, with the Left Alliance, Greens and Conservatives gaining votes. Ecanta ended up with a Con-Lib coalition, as left-wing parties were unable to form a majority[4].

Second Lauchenoirian Civil War

Ecanta was the first province of the war to see fighting[5], when the First Battle of Annatown began on June 12, 2018. It is also the province that Kerlian forces first landed in[6]. Members of the Lauchenoirian Resistance destroyed bridges in Ecanta to prevent Gonhog reaching Summersea[7]. In mid-July, Ecanta was the main target for Laeralite forces[8].

Throughout the war, Ecanta suffered from a drought[9], which ended shortly before the Third Battle of Annatown. The Coalition to Liberate Lauchenoiria first gained a foothold in Ecanta in August when Slokasians managed to gain control of the town of Statsbrug[10].
