The Sanctarian Federal Statistics Office (SFSO), also called the Federal Statistics Office, is the principal statistical agency of the Government of Sanctaria, responsible for the collection, analysis, and publication of official statistics relating to the Divine Federation of Sanctaria. The office operates under the Treasury, although it maintains statutory independence in the production and publication of official statistics.

The SFSO is responsible for conducting the federal census, maintaining national population estimates, and producing statistical reports on the economy, employment, demographics, and social conditions. It also works with other government departments and agencies to establish common statistical standards and ensure consistency in the collection and reporting of official data.

Organisation[edit | edit source]

The SFSO is headed by a Director-General, who is responsible for the administration of the agency and oversees its statistical programmes. Although the office receives its funding through the Treasury, the Director-General retains responsibility for statistical methodologies, the content of official publications, and the timing of their release.

The office works alongside federal departments, state governments, and other public bodies in the collection and analysis of statistical information. It also maintains national statistical databases and makes official datasets available to government institutions, researchers, businesses, and the general public.

Responsibilities[edit | edit source]

The principal responsibilities of the SFSO include:

  • Conducting the federal population and housing census.
  • Producing national and state population estimates and demographic projections.
  • Collecting and publishing economic statistics, including inflation, employment, wages, and national accounts.
  • Compiling statistics relating to education, housing, health, and other social indicators.
  • Establishing statistical standards for federal government departments and agencies.
  • Publishing official statistical reports and maintaining publicly accessible statistical databases.

Federal census[edit | edit source]

The SFSO is responsible for the planning and administration of the federal census, which provides a comprehensive account of the population and households of Sanctaria. Census information is used in public administration, government planning, the allocation of public resources, and demographic research.

The most recent federal census was conducted on 31 January 2026, with the first national and state population figures published on 30 October 2026. The census recorded a national population of 517,934,289, with more detailed demographic and household statistics scheduled for publication during 2027.
