San Fernando FC or San Fernando Football Club is a football team playing in SPL. San Fernando is one of the oldest clubs in Slokais Islands and the oldest in San Fernando. San Fernando is considered one of the traditional powerhouses of Slokasian football with 12 league titles, 3 being SPL titles and 13 Association Cups. In addition, San Fernando FC is part of the San Fernando Sporting Group (SFSG) which includes San Fernando Ballclub, a GDBL team.

History

Founded in 1905 by Jeremiah Doe, a college student at San Fernando University. The club began its existence in the San Fernando Provincial League with a team made of mostly college students. Despite this, San Fernando managed to win the League in 1907 and 1909. In 1910, along with several other clubs created a national First Division, with teams qualifying from provincial leagues. In 1912, San Fernando was bought by Edwin Zhao, the owner of the San Fernando Zoo. From this, the team took upon the nickname the Cranes and played their games at the Zoo Grounds, a special stadium built next to the Zoo and used for animal exhibitions. In 1918, San Fernando won the League and Cup double, both securing wins over New Liverpool in the final. In 1927, San Fernando was found guilty of match-fixing and was relegated to the 3rd division. San Fernando was then bought by Johh Min, who moved the club across the river to San Fernando Island playing at the Racing Grounds until 2011. San Fernando FC then became a popular club among the Ren community, establishing themselves with the foundation of the Glorious Cranes Club in 1940. Due to these affiliations, San Fernando FC was excluded from the 1952 season after a investigation by the National Reformist Council for Integrity. San Fernando FC then became an amateur club, losing the Racing Grounds to the San Fernando City Club, a team formed from 6 smaller-clubs.

In 1968, San Fernando FC returned to the professional level in League 3 where it faced San Fernando City. In 1978, San Fernando FC returned to the Racing Grounds, with both City and FC playing in the same stadium until 2011. San Fernando went on to win 3 league titles and 4 association cup's in League 1 between 1980 and 1990. Players such as Paul Huang and Stephen Galvez lead the team and consistently were called to the national team. In 1991, San Fernando formed the SFSG and purchased San Fernando Ballclub, becoming the first football and drywall ball club's to come under combined ownership and facility and resource sharing. In 2001, San Fernando FC joined the initial season of the SFL. In 2006, San Fernando became the first club outside of New Liverpool to win the SPL behind a then-record of 28 wins. In 2010, the 52,000 seat Promenade Stadium was completed as the Racing Ground had become prone to flooding leaving San Fernando City FC as the sole club in 2011. 2013-2014 was the title winning season behind the leadership of Roger Hsu as a manger. Additionally, San Fernando FC won the Association Cup in 2015-2016 and 2021-2022 and the League Cup in 2019-2020.
