Sir Ross Ashley, Baron of Machlain (July 23, 1740 - October 30, 1809), was a Iustitian-born Valahandian nobleman, magistrate, diplomat, and revolutionary figure central to the Iustitian War for Independence. He is considered the "grandfather of Libertas Omnium Maximus," and is among the nation's more recognizable founding fathers, despite dying more than two decades before the Iustitian Civil War. Ashley was one of the architects of the Iustitian independence movement, serving as the fledgling Iustitian state's chief foreign minister from 1802 until his death in 1809.
