The Progress Party is a center-right political party founded in 2008 by Pe-itsi Bacatsy. The party platform supports a mixed economy, conservative social policies, and greater environmental regulation. Members of the party have also regularly created bills intended to shrink Tsiba's social safety net. Members of the Unity Party has worked extensively with the Ecology Party on environmental issues, as well as with the Unity Party on economic issues.
Current General Secretary, Sixth Representative Alvand Sahiwala, was elected in 2014. As General Secretary he created the student wing of the party, the Progress Party Youth of Tsiba, and the women's wing, the Women for Tsiba Progress.
