Karakhtan, officially The Grand Karakhtani Republic, is a semi-presidential republic located in the mountains of eastern Caxcana. An extremely mountainous nation, a majority of the population is located in the capital of Yüretokh and other population centers in the fertile Revaya Valley.
The primary ethnic group of the nation is the Karakhs, who make up an estimated 72% of the nation. Smaller ethnic and ethnoreligious groups, such as the Surekh and Zarakh, live primarily in rural areas and at higher altitudes.
Many ancient settlements exist across Karakhtan, with the ruins of ancient sites such as Kurazen or the Temple at Sem-Khayan being hubs of historical tourism and archaeological research.
