Kaijan City was founded in 1127 by traders from Serriel who wanted to trade with local tribes. By the 1400s Kaijan City was a walled city with 40,000 people living within its walls. Thought the city were lots of markets from rice to salmon to spices. The city was home to the Kaijan Academy where thinkers would gather to discuss and learn knowledge related to math and science. In the 1700s it was the site of the Battle of Kaijan Bay where a massive fleet attacked the city and defeated the rebels. Much of the outer city was destroyed as well as much of the port. The city was rebuilt but the inner city remained as the areas around it changed. Kaijan City changed again in the early 1800s as new settlers built a port upon the ruins of downtown. When Slokais became independent the city became the capital of Kaijan Province and later North Kaijan Province.
Modern Day[edit | edit source]
The city is the 2nd largest city in Slokais Islands with 1.9 million in the metro area. It is mostly Kaijanese Ren or Muslim, with a large population of Mallcans and Andharans. The city has 21 Urban Districts each representing seats in a City Council. The city is home to many major companies as well as a large tourist and eco-tourism industry and sizable fishing industry. The city is served by Slokasian Rail as well as the Kaijan Metro and Kaijan City International Airport. The old walls of the city as still there are preserved as a historic site and have many visitors a year. The highways in the city are the S-8 and S-803 by the airport as well as the S-14 and the Kaijan Tollway.
