Jean Paterson, née Brumley (born August 1, 1937) is a Maximusian stateswoman who served as her nation's President from 1989 to 1997, making her the first woman to do so. As president, Paterson oversaw the Maximusian economy's meteoric rebound in the early 1990s, but has been criticized for what some view as a botched handling of the 1991 Bjeorg Conflict. Before running for president in 1988, Paterson served as the first female Governor of Bressel Province. Despite her mixed legacy, Paterson is considered one of the chief architects of the modern Conservative Party in Libertas Omnium Maximus.
