The Green Party is a centre-left environmentalist political party in Lauchenoiria. It is the third-largest party in the Federal Parliament of Lauchenoiria and the current junior partner in the Liberal-Green coalition that forms the present government. Its leader is Lucie Scott.

In the 2020 election, the Green Party joined with the Pacifists to form the Green-Pacifist Alliance. However, in 2022, the Alliance collapsed after Lauchenoirian involvement in the Aurian Civil War began, with the Pacifists quitting the government.

History[edit | edit source]

The Green Party was first founded in 1993, following the restoration of democracy in Lauchenoiria. Their support has steadily increased year-on-year since their foundation.

Policies[edit | edit source]

The Green Party considers climate change the greatest issue facing Lauchenoiria and the rest of the world. Their overarching policy priority is to tackle climate change. They believe in protecting the environment at all costs, and grew popular among people more neutral on the capitalism-communism debate that the other main parties focused on.

The party is economically centre-left and very socially liberal. They are currently led by Lucie Scott who spent the entirety of the civil war as a political prisoner in the hands of the Chaher regime.

Social Issues[edit | edit source]

The Greens want to work to make the National Health Service more environmentally friendly, and are opposed to private providers but open to compromise on that. They want to add environmental education to the curriculum, mandate all schools have field trips where they discuss environmental issues. They believe accessibility for disabled people is really important but only if it does not come at the expense of the environment or else everyone will die.

Economic Issues[edit | edit source]

They want to prioritise the environment even at the expense of the economy, and believe in respecting the capitalism referendum mandate.

Security Issues[edit | edit source]

They want to keep all pre-war gun restrictions in place, slash military spending, avoid further conflict, focus on the environment not destructive warfare. They also believe privacy must be respected and so government surveillance must be curtailed.

International Issues[edit | edit source]

They want to work with the international community to protect the environment, ally with anyone who shares that aim. They say it is no surprise that people are emigrating because of the war, and also no surprise people are immigrating because of the climate, open the borders.

Constitutional Issues[edit | edit source]

They believe protections for the environment should be written into the constitution to ensure climate change doesn’t kill everyone. They have no position on Aelurian independence.
