The E:W-M-Assault Rifle-4/1987, comprehensive designation name equipment:medium-assault rifle-4th model/made in 1987, short name AR-4 "Western Gray Fox", is a bullpup assault rifle primary designed by Major Albane Ninon of the Army Field Weapons Research. It was designed to replace the previous service rifle, the AR-2, as well as the Marisian Republican Land Guard's AR-3, and the Devenmond Federation's AC-1. The rifle is currently used by six different countries, Wosteaque, Elalia, Esilie, Milintica, and Teyè.
Design[edit | edit source]
The AR-4 is the standard rifle of the Wosteaquean Armed Forces, as well as the People's Army of Teyè. It features a relatively lightweight design for the caliber, 3.84 kg (8.47 lb), a 508mm barrel, 777mm overall length, and optional bayonet mounts. The rifles uses a lever-delayed blowback action that was derived from earlier light and medium machine gun designs. The AR-4 fires the standard 7.5x55mmR rifle round in a 21 round box magazine, and as such has a longer effective firing range, 800 m (1640 ft), more armor penetration, at the draw back of more recoil, and less rounds each solider can carry.
Accessories[edit | edit source]
The AR-4 can be equipped with many accessories designed for the standard military rail, barrel option such as compensators or suppressors are also available. The ALGL-1, the AS-1, and the AS-2 can be mounted on the under grip for added firepower, or help in specialized combat roles. Rifle grenades such as the anti-infantry, HERG-4, or the anti-tank, ATRG-2 can be mounted on the rifle for additional firepower.
