Chuaztlapoc is a city in northeastern Huenya and the capital of the Huenyan Federation. It is one of the smaller capital cities in the IDU, but has been undergoing rapid growth since Huenyan independence. The city was originally founded in 1380 AD by Xiomeran leaders as the headquarters city of the Shorn Ones, the elite warriors who currently serve as the bodyguards of the Huenyan royal family. It is from this history that the city derives its nickname, "City of Warriors."
Chuaztlapoc has many different neighborhoods, with the two most important ones being Xilohual (the historic city center) and the Government Zone (also known as the Green Zone).
Important sites in Xilohual include the Hall of Chuaztlapoc, which is the sacred hall of the Shorn Ones, their main gathering place and also where those fallen in combat are memorialized. Tlacochcalco, the "house of darts", the armory of the Shorn Ones, is also located in Xilohual. Nemachtilcalli, the "place where things are taught and learned", the school of the Shorn Ones in which young warriors are raised and educated, is also located in Xilohual. The Federation National Archives, the Huenyan national archives, are located in Xilohual as well. The Teoquiyaoatl or "sacred portal", the teocalli ("God-house") at Chuaztlapoc; can also be found in Xilohual. It is the second most important religious site in the Huenyan faith after the Huēyi Teōcalli in Tlālacuetztla, Xiomera. The Shorn Ones compound as a whole is known as Altepetenametica, an ancient name for Huenyan walled cities. Camp Tlalmanang, the training center for the Federation Special Forces, is also located in Xilohual.
The Government Zone houses the offices and important buildings of the Federation government. It was constructed from scratch on undeveloped land by the Huenyan government with help from Laeral, Eiria and Greater Acadia among other nations. The Tecpancalli Tonaltzintli, the home and offices of the Federation President, is located in the Green Zone. The Hall of the Huenyan Federation (Federation Hall), the home of the Federal Legislature, is also located in the Green Zone. The Tlatlahcoyān ("place of the center") is the central plaza of the Green Zone. Most of the major government buildings in Chuaztlapoc are located around this central plaza, as are the majority of foreign embassies. The Palace of the Four Directions, a newly constructed palace that replaced the aging and insecure Xochuaxte Palace on the outskirts of the city, was home to the Huenyan monarchy before it was abolished. The Palace has since been converted into a conference center and housing for visiting dignitaries.
The Green Zone is heavily fortified to prevent terrorist attacks, with giant blast walls surrounding its perimeter and limited access through several checkpoints guarded by the Huenyan Army.
