The Sanctarian Ambassador to the League of IDU Nations is the leader of the Sanctarian delegation to the League of IDU Nations. The position is established in legislation as the "Permanent Representative of the Divine Federation of Sanctaria to the League of IDU Nations, with the rank and status of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary"; it is more commonly referred to as the Ambassador to the LIDUN, however.
The Sanctarian Ambassador is charged with representing Sanctaria in the four committees-of-the-whole of the League and, when elected, in the Security Council of the organisation; Sanctaria has served on the Security Council since its election to the inaugural council in May 2023. As with all Ambassadors from Sanctaria, he or she must be nominated by Government of Sanctaria and confirmed by the Senate before being appointed by the President of the Divine Federation.
The position was originally created in 2021 on the establishment of the League, however the first Ambassador was not nominated until May 2023 after the League's foundational Charter had been ratified by members of the body. Antoine Rousseau, a veteran diplomat, was confirmed as the first, and current, Sanctarian Ambassador to the League of IDU Nations on 26 May 2023. He presented his credentials to the Secretary-General of the League on the same day.

Duties[edit | edit source]
Sanctarian Ambassadors to LIDUN have a limited, but labour intensive, set of duties. They are assisted in these duties by junior diplomats and civil servants seconded to the mission by the Department of Foreign Affairs. Such duties include:
- Representing Sanctarian interests in the League of IDU Nations
- Preparation, drafting, and submission of legislation pursuant to Sanctarian interests, if necessary
- Voting on resolutions before the League
- Engaging with resolution authors during drafting and during debates to ensure resolutions are favourable to Sanctaria
On occasion, Sanctaria may serve on the body's Security Council. On those occasions, the Sanctarian Ambassador is also responsible for ensuring decisions made on the Security Council protect Sanctaria's position as a neutral, non-interventionist nation, as well as voting to ensure security and peace in the International Democratic Union.
