Houses[edit | edit source]

Over the monarchy's nearly 500 year existence, five great houses occupied the throne. The oldest, House Heinrichsoan, literally, the "Sons of Heinrich," and its two cadet branches, Celon and Aldhiem, controlled the country for half of that time. Katrien I was the final monarch of Valahandia of patrilineal descent from Cesan the Great. Under the final house, Deaneala, significant Opthelian cultural influence was introduced to the customs and rituals of the Valahandian monarchy.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  1. Cesan was also known as "Cesan the Bastard."
  2. Restored following the conclusion of the War of Great Hills in 1515.
  3. Jannes IV suffered a debilitating stroke at the age of 50 in the early winter of 1799, subsequently abdicating the throne in 1800. He recovered his faculties over the following years, but never sought to retake the throne, dying in 1810.
