Ricci Di Brambilla family
The Ricci Di Brambilla family is a noteworthy political family in Mansillan politics, occupying the highest offices of government since the mid-20th century. The family is a composite of two political dynasties, the Di Brambilla and Ricci families, which were joined via the wedding of Giancarlo Ricci and Angela Di Brambilla in 1980. Despite humble origins for both branches of the family, two members of the family have occupied the highest office in Mansilla, with Mario Di Brambilla serving as Prime Minister from 1978 to 1996 and his son-in-law, Giancarlo Ricci, succeeding him. Giancarlo remains the Prime Minister of Mansilla to this day.

Reputation[edit | edit source]
Mario Di Brambilla, in particular, was known as a master propogandist, amalgamating ancestral stories to portray his own origin as a humble one, which grew his appeal among many of the most rural regions of Mansilla during his bid for power in the late 1970s. In reality, his father, Giacomo, secured a quite opulent existence for his sons as a reward for his loyalty to Brunelli during the 1937 Coup. Strategically, the family has worked to keep their own members in control of the State Radio-Television Service, an institution that both Mario and his son-in-law have utilized extensively to maintain their popularity and degrade that of political opponents. The Ricci Di Brambilla family is also noteworthy for ushering in an uneasy peace across Mansilla, sometimes referred to as "Pax Brambilla." When Mario, assisted by his brother and future brother-in-law, usurped control of the nation from Lorenzo D'Amaro, Di Brambilla was very careful to reward families and individuals loyal to his cause with favorable positions in the new government, creating a status quo which remains in place to day. This status quo came as a massive change to Mansillan political tradition, which had been characterized by violence, treachery, and very little job security for almost a century leading up to Mario's ascension.
