The Republic of Kaijan was a republic that existed from 1830 to 1848, then from 1968 to 1970 on the island of Kaijan. Both time's being absorbed into Slokais Islands. The First Republic which existed from 1830 to 1848, was governed as a constitutional monarchy by Caliph Mohamed Bin Borro who united several trading kingdoms to form the Republic. The First Republic ended with the Republic being invaded by the Dominion of Slokais, backed by Sanctaria. In 1968, during the conclusion of the Great War, the All-Kaijan Muslim League declared independence. Immediately, the new Republic went largely unrecognized by the international community as the Federation of Slokais wished to re-unite all former territories. In 1970, Mohamed Zavala agreed to re-join Slokais Islands in exchange for the creation of the Ministry of Kaijanese Affairs and economic support.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The name Kaijan was created in the 1820s by Caliph Mohamed Bin Borro to describe the island that was then known by many names. Additionally, as the Republic of Kaijan had several kingdoms and dominions, the name was neutral to each of the various powers.
