The "Best New Film" award is the most prestigious of those given during an IDU Film Festival, recognizing the best new film released between the 2020 IDU Film Festival and the start of the 2021 Festival. Five entries were submitted to this category.

Best Classic Film[edit | edit source]
The "Best Classic Film" award recognizes a great film of IDU cinema released at least four years before the present nomination period (on or before December 18, 2017). There was only one nomination, the 1998 religious-epic, The Way of Zongong, which won by default.
