The Voccientilles is the Mansillan parliament, which was created following the 1937 Coup. Though ostensibly a democratic body, the Voccientilles is, in fact, little more than an apparatus of the Mansillan National Party, used to exert control on the Monarch of Mansilla. Although any adult male may run for one of the body's 62 seats, no non-MNP member has ever actually been elected. The National Party uses a mix of ballot rigging, voter suppression, controlled opposition, and garden-variety threats of violence to ensure that only party members win. The Voccientilles exists independent of the institution of the Mansillan Prime Minister, the Gran Custodé, but both influence and are, in turn, influenced by, the Party.
