Histoty

The Left Party was founded in 1891 as an alliance of Left-Leaning Thinkers, it controlled the government through the first 3 presidents of Slokais. Alexander Lin was the first non-left party leader. However, the party always has decent numbers in congress until 1925 under David Livingstone and the Conservatives who had a 13-year grip on power by changing elections to every 3 years. However, though the 40s the party flourished under Howard Ramirez, who then lost power after he left politics in 1950. The reform party under Juan Costa ruled the country under an iron fist with most elections after 1950 being corrupted. He also skipped elections and changed them to every 4 years, with no chance at 2 years. He then banned the party in 1963 and has the leaders jailed, though after the revolution he failed to gain power again until 1985, he lasted only one term after being unpopular. That was the last time the Left Party held the presidency. The Party in the 90s broke up and by 2000 were no longer one of the main parties, as of 2020 the party has only 10 seats. In 2021 the final blow came when the National Alliance took 7 MPs, and the Centrists took 1. As of Late 2021, they have 2 remaining MPs and 1 governor in Silverado, though his term ends in 2022 and is unlikely to win re-election.
