Lumeniola is the colloquial name for the Maximusian metropolitan area comprising the cities of East Lumeniola (in Hampton), West Lumeniola (in Elizabeth), and a number of independently administered suburban communes. The city is bifurcated by the Boenecca River and is considered by many the nation's "cultural capital," home to the Maximusian film and music industries.

West Lumeniola is the larger of the two cities, more densely populated and, on the whole, poorer, though the city is also home to a number of the largest movie studios in the nation. West Lumeniolan suburb, Whitehorse, is among the wealthiest communes (per capita) in the nation, home to movie stars, pop singers, and famous athletes. The West Lumeniola waterfront also houses a number of famous jazz clubs, restaurants, and nightclubs.
