History
Victoria City was founded in 1785, by settlers from Costeno, originally named "Ciudad Victoria" after the ship that carried them there. Due to its location in a natural harbor and at the crucial junction at the Strait of Colorado, Victoria City quickly grew as an industrial center for the developing Victoria Province. The city saw rapid population expansion during the 1950s as rural workers moved were encouraged to move into urban areas for better job prospects. Because of the geography of the city, informal communities were built into the surrounding hills, these areas called "Pubelos de Trabjadores" turned into permanent parts of the city itself.
