History

Kaijan City was founded in 1127 by traders who wanted to trade with local tribes. By the 1400s it was a walled city with 40,000 people living within its walls. Though the city were lots of markets from rice to salmon to spices it was all sold. The city was home to the Kaijan Academy where thinkers would gather to discuss and learn knowledge. In the 1700s it was home to the incursion from Costeno it was the site of the Battle of Kaijan Bay where a massive fleet attacked the city and defeated the rebels. Much of the outer city was destroyed as well as much of the port. The city was rebuilt but the inner city remained as the areas around it changed. The city changed again in the early 1800s as new settlers built a new port where Downtown is today. When Slokais became independent the city became the capital of Kaijan Province and later North Kaijan Province.
