Kaijan City Dragons Football Club is a football club in Kaijan City, North Kaijan. Founded in 1975, the club is the 3rd most successful club in the modern SPL era with three league titles. The club has also entered continental competitions on several occasions. Named for the mythical Dragon of Kaijan, a spiritual creature which is popular in traditional folklore. The K Boy's as there known are extremely popular and are associated with Kaijanese nationalism. This is due to the club's policy of only recruiting Kaijanese-born players to it's academy and playing almost inclusively players who have Kaijanese ancestry.
History
Orginally founded as a sports club in Al-Kawal neighborhood as Dragons Ballclub. The organization also created a Drywall Ball team at the same time in 1975. In 1975, the Kaijan City Dragons entered the Kaijan Regional Football League, having a mid-table finish in it's first season. Through the 70s and early 80's, Kaijan City Dragons quickly moved through the ranks of semi-pro football with lineups made of -ex-college players. In 1984, the Dragons won the National League South to win promotion to the Second Division with a final day victory over local rivals Al-Kawal FC. In 1985, the Kaijan Rule came into effect which required all academy and first team players to have either Kaijanese ancestry or to have lived in Kaijan. Despite these limitations, the Dragons had reached the First Division by 1987 with a semi-final appearance in the Association Cup of 1986. In the 90s, the Dragons remained a mid-table side before winning the 1997 League Title.
