Hariri also declared Sanaa the seat of governance for his new kingdom. When Hariri I died in 1503, the throne passed to his eldest son Olmeni. Olmeni is best remembered for closing trade in the port of Sanaa, leading to a brief conflict within a coalition of various trading states across Southeastern Hesperida. Olmeni was then defeated by his younger cousin Hariri II. Hariri II is most notable for the founding of the Islamic University of Sanaa and for re-introducing Islam into governance and policy.
