The common sea scorpion (Parvus varius), is a medium-sized saltwater eurypterid belonging to the genus Parvus. The species is one of four living species of eurypterid.
Description
The common sea scorpion is a medium-sized eurypterid that is found in the Olympic Ocean, and Southern Ocean. Particularly near Wosteaque, with the largest population areas near Frésir and Boemont, although large populations also exist near Doatia, and Yesteria.
Ecology
Habitat
Common sea scorpions live in the Epipelagic Zone of the Olympic, and Southern Ocean, with most living near coastal waters.
Diet
Common sea scorpions are a generalist species, either hunting or scavenging. The most common prey that are seen being hunted are shrimp and small fish.
Size
Common sea scorpions average a size of 25 centimeters, with the largest specimen being 38 centimeters.
