Grapevale

Grapevale is the capital city of the Matriarchy of Kerlile. The city is built on top of the former location of the Castle of Grapes, former home of the North Fleuran monarchy. The city gains its name from the vineyards that used to cover the area it now stands. The city is home to the Chamber of the Council of Kerlile and the Parliament of Kerlile. Additionally, each Council Family owns at least one property in, or near, to the city; as well as in their assigned region. The city is remarkable for its comparatively low buildings in contrast to other capital cities.

Locations

• The Council Chambers in the centre of the city are where the Council of Kerlile meets to discuss law and policy for the Matriarchy. The President of Kerlile also maintains an office in the building.
• The Parliament of Kerlile is where the 96 elected women meet to debate laws.
• The Grapevale City Records Office contains the primary servers for the comprehensive Kerlian Citizen Identity Database that tracks every Kerlian citizen.
• The University of Grapevale is the second most prestigious university in Kerlile, second only to the University of Maytown.
• Grapevale Central Hospital is the medical facility of choice for the Council of Kerlile and has the best medical professionals in the Matriarchy. The hospital will not treat males over the age of 12.
• The Men's Further Education College in Grapevale is the first and only tertiary education centre in Kerlile for men.
• The High Court in Grapevale is where the Matriarchy's most high-profile cases are tried.

Events

• In 2019, Councillor Natalia Hart attended an illegal anti-torture protest in Grapevale.
• In 2020, activists from Climate Alliance Lauchenoiria were permitted to hold a demonstration in the city.
• In 2021, Grapevale hosted the International Women's Congress.
