==First Kaijan War==
==Background==
Kaijan is very different from the rest of Slokais in religion and in culture. Kaijan is home to most of the Muslims in Slokais as well as being less European and more traditionally Slokaisan. And for a long time was often neglected by the Slokaisan government and therefore was known for being poorer than the rest of the islands. The idea of Kaijanese Independence was first addressed in 1893 when Howard Tsai gave a speech during a session of the Kajian Province Assembly. In 1898 the Kaijan Independence Party gained 7 seats in the Kaijan Assembly. Over the years, the party gained power in Kaijan and on the national level. In 1920, a new Governor took over, named Jiang Lee. He was very supportive of independence and pushed for President Alexander Lin to give more power to Kaijan. However, Lin wanted Kaijan to have a tribal council, rather than more power to the provincial government. In 1923, the Tribal Council Act was passed and recognized only 6 tribes of Kaijan. This did not go over well with many Kaijanese who felt like they were not represented. So in 1924 most voters in Kaijan voted for presidential candidate David Livingstone hoping that it would be easier to convince him. However that was not the case and Livingstone actually wanted to boost military presence in the area as a lot of the land had both flat ground and natural harbors, making it ideal for military bases. This led to many workers' strikes at many sugarcane farms, which led to the army being called in to end the unrest. In the ensuing conflict with the army on October 12, 1924, 150 workers were killed and many more injured. The next day Jiang Lee declared independence for Kaijan from the rest of Slokais. Over the next 4 years, many clashes were fought across all over Slokais. In 1930, the Kaijan government in exile was defeated. This conflict came to be known as the First Kaijan War.

==1913 Kaijan Revolt==
The 1913 Revolt began on June 8th, 1913, when 10,000 workers left the jobs at various factories around the island to protest not only low wages but also the continued policy of President Lin who supported closer ties with Kaijan. This strike was organized by the Free Kaijan Union of Industrial Workers or FKUIW, the FKUIW was met by armed guards employed by the United Sugar and Coffee Company, the USCC has a small force of militia armed with the latest weapons, they clashed with the FKUIW at various street battles, to keep order the Governor of Kaijan, James Mott sent the Army to arrest the FKUIW and restore order in the countryside were revolutionaries had taken control. Most of the fighting was cat and mouse as the army chased Mohammed Manaho and his band of fighters. This chase was memorized in the folk song “The Yellow Cats in Kaijan” the song talks about how the “yellow cats' ' in the Army could not catch the “Brave mice Manaho”. To this day this song is popular among Kaijan Nationalists. However in the end Maranhao and his gang were captured and killed by firing squad on March 2nd, 1914. This event basically ended the Center Parties appeal in Kaijan leading them to vote KIP in the next elections, though they refused to run for President as they considered it an illegitimate office, they also never took seats in the House despite winning them.

The idea of independence for Kaijan was tossed around during the formation of the Federation of Slokais but was thrown out. For the next few decades, the idea was brought up by the independence party a lot, but since they were not very influential it did not gain much traction. However, in 2000 a lot of cities had independence rallies in the more Kaijanese areas of the city. On March 28th, 2007, the Financial Center in New Liverpool was the target of a terrorist attack. Later that day Musa Huang of the New Kajian Republic terrorist organization claimed resbonbillty in a video clip shared with the media. In the video, Huang said that “Until Kaijanese independence is respected, we will go down fighting and take everyone down with us”. Immediately afterward President Sean Khan ordered that the military secure all business areas and transportation hubs in Kaijan. However, this allowed the NKR to come down from the mountains and invade the surrounding villages. The NKR swept across the Western Highlands before the military could react. Over the next year, the army slowly secured the area back. In 2008 the NRK came out of the Mountains and attacked Kaijan City as well as the city of Mauxing. However, Mauxing was fully taken and was used as a base of operations as the NRK slowly pushed North towards Kaijan City. However, they were pushed back into the mountains once again by late 2009. Then NRK continued to carry out terrorist attacks around Slokais until their mountain hideout was taken in 2010.
For the next few decades, the idea was brought up by former members of KUF however they were not very influential and recived little national focus.
The Second Kaijan War claimed the lives of 50,000 people and had a massive impact on Kaijan. However, in recent years more focus has been given to Kaijan as well as more tribes on the Tribal Council. It also has seen a massive Ecotourism industry develop on the island. Since 2010 the idea of Kaijan independence has mostly died out.
