Anfa (L'Cité en Foi), the "second city" of [[Haesan]], is a key economic, financial, and cultural hub in the East of [[Hesperida]]. Located on Haesan's northern coast on the [[Gulf of Haesan]], at the mouth of the [[Marchal River]], the city has historically been a key nexus for trade and commerce. First settled by Haemi migrants during the first century BCE, the city was formally founded as Bukcheon (북천시) in 632 during the reign of the Dukedom of Lee. During the French colonial period, Anfa was the seat of French government, and at this time took on much of its present characteristic identity, including widespread use of French language and omnipresence of French culture. During the War of Haesanite Succession, the city was sieged by [[Opthelia|Opthelian]] forces, and during its bombardment, was largely destroyed. Afterwards, as the Opthelians contracted "Cité en Foi" to "Anfa," the city became an experiment in modern urban planning notable for its many parks, greenways, and monumental squares. Today the city is one of the major financial hubs of Hesperida, with a high concentration of finance, investments, and consulting firms, and hosting the [[Bourse Anfois]], the exchange with the highest volume of commodities trading in the [[International Democratic Union|IDU]].
