Moon Empire (TV series)

Moon Empire is a Kerlian satirical science-fiction TV series depicting a 23rd-century gynarchial empire based on the moon. The show first aired in 2006 and is still popular across the Matriarchy. The show is known for its depiction of hostile extraterrestrials using accents and cultural symbols of states which have tense relations with Kerlile.

Premise

Moon Empire is set primarily on the moon in the 23rd century, which is ruled by Kerlile. Men are forbidden from setting foot on the moon, and are condemned to live on a polluted Earth which was turned into a wasteland by patriarchal wars and climate change. Earth is never shown on-screen.

Episodes

Season 6 (2018)

After a Fritilina saboteur is found trying to destroy a nuclear power plant on the moon, the Empire must venture into Fritiline territory to prevent Queen Senga from using an army of genetically-engineered human-like beings to infiltrate the Empire and destroy it. This season is believed to be an allegory for the Second Lauchenoirian Civil War.

Season 7 (2019)

The Moon Empire is approached by a seemingly-friendly group of aliens proposing an alliance. However, all is not as it seems when it is revealed that the aliens' female leader is a puppet of the males of her species, and this was all a ruse to conquer the Moon Empire. The aliens in the season were given Sanctarian accents following the Haven Accords due to Kerlian opposition to the treaty.

Season 8 (2020)

The Kerlian Governor of Mars is kidnapped by a group of hostile aliens and subjected to gravity-torture, as the new threat aims to wipe the minds of other species to turn them into obedient slaves. The season's aliens were depicted as Shuellian with many considering the series to be a response to the hunting of members of the Aurora Programme.

Cast and characters

• Parris Matsuoka as Councillor Adriana Chiu, a descendant of the Chiu family who manages most of the military affairs of the Moon Empire from her spaceship in orbit of the moon.
• Karmen Traves as General Vera Brotz, the commander of the Moon Empire's army.
• Marika Almassy as Doctor Luna Nelissen, a genius with five degrees, including in medicine and xenobiology, who can immediately understand the biology of any alien she meets.
• Adisa Sastre as Christa Ness, a talented pilot who can carry out seemingly impossible missions.
• Flora Brankovic as Zaneta, a half-human whose father is a Vunussux, a species of magenta alien with antennae, and who works as an analyst for the Empire.
• Janina Novak as Queen Senga of the Fritilina; recurring antagonists who are depicted as secretly controlling many other alien species.

Reception

The show is very popular in Kerlile and consistently gains new viewers each year.
