Taxing real-estate deals made by foreign companies in your nation. Basically, can Mr. Trump build a hotel in your capital, right accross the street from "The Grand Ceorana Hotel" tax-free or does he pay a premium for being a multi-national company with huge brand-equity?

CeoranaNov 5 2006, 09:15 PM MikitivityNov 5 2006, 05:31 PM I'd like to suggest that each 3-month term as the IDU UN Delegate should also give nations a boost.

"Oh, Italy is the head of the EU right now!"

I'd also give another very small boost to the current IDU UN Delegate.
Both good ideas. I'll give a +1 pride boost for each term served as UN delegate, and +0.5 if you're currently serving. (Pride will reduce imports, because citizens will be proud of your nation and want to buy its products.)
Hopefully this will make a bit more incentive for future runs at the Delegacy.

I'd also make market specific boosts. For example, having the most olympic medals should result in an entertainment boost. Ditto for the soccer tourny. The Golden Tiger could have something to boost arts & entertainment. The IDU Cheese Festival could boost domestic dairy production. At this point the Golden Tiger and Cheese Festival can be counted on, and we know the sporting events will continue. Sporting events could also translate into increased tourism.

Do you just make up tariffs, or are they based at anything?

I've got 1 Golden Tiger :yeah:

The game doesn't really have a tariff feature, so we can just pull them out of thin air. Wink

Quick question.

I've been working on a reputation system for our message board. Would you be able to pull that information with your script and include it as an economic marker?

It depends.

If the information was on the same line of the HTML code of a certain page on the board or elsewhere, then yes.

If the information was always on the same page and had a unique set of text for the beginning of the line and/or the end of the line, or had a unique set of text anywhere in the line, then yes.

If not, I'll see what I can do.

In any case, it would be a lot easier if the entries were delimited by colons or other unique characters, at least in an invisible version that the script could get at.
