Mallancaland (also known as Mallacaland) is a small tropical mountainous nation south of Slokais Islands and bordered by Aredoa. Mallacaland has a small population of 1,150,000 people, of which 500,000 are estimated to live in Mallacaland City. Established initially as the Kingdom of Mallaca in 1471, modern Mallacaland was created in 1998 as a constitutional monarchy, however in 2021 the monarchy was overthrown and the Republic of Mallacland. Despite this, Mallacaland remains the most undeveloped nations in Hesperdia, and continues to be in active civil war. Culturally, Mallacaland is known for it's unique Arabic cuisine and historical sites, while economically is known for natural gas and fishing industries.

History

The country was settled by humans as early as 10,000 BCE. Establishing a number of agricultural societies, although much is unknown before 500 when written records indicate the establishment of a farming kingdom. H'ana was the most powerful of these kingdoms, constructing their capital city of Am'ena around 700. H'ana adopted Judaism as its primary religion and became a primary trade city in the region. However, for unknown reasons, the kingdom collapsed leaving around 10,000 descendants. In the 1320s traders from Serriel arrived and established trading towns of their own, there was initially conflict between the two powers although soon shared adoption of Islam helped foster cooperation. These settlers built kingdoms along the coast which became the 12 emirates of Mallaca in 1471. From there Mallaca existed as a trading port for Nerian ships selling goods to the Hesperidan market.

Modern Era

In 1905, Mallaca came under the control of Darya, when King Ahmori II was couped by his advisors and eventually taken as Daryan territory. Despite, there control Daryans had very little influence beyond the Port of Samrena. Business continued somewhat as normal under the Great War, when the Daryan navy began using the Port for supplies. In 1963, a combined force of Serriel and local forces took back Samrena and re-estbalished the Mallaca Kingdom. On June 27th, 1998 the county of Mallancland was founded with King Abdin as the head of the state and a prime minister as head of government. In 2002 work began on building a capital city on the narrow Hasa'ra Peninsula. By 2015 the city of Mallanca City was finished. In 2016 the county began a program of expansion and development. In 2017 24-year-old King Abdin II came to the throne.

Republic Era

In 2021, after a new set of decrees by the government that rolled back a lot of King Abdin II's policy, he objected to this but he was voted out by the Emirs and his younger brother 9-year-old King Hassan who is under an emir who is his regent. On February 3rd, 2021, after comments by Laucherioia, their citizens were detained, after much pressure, this was rescinded. However, it drew lots of focus on Mallacaland. Later that month the Mallacaland Revolution began. On February 22nd, King Abdin II took over but promised to write a new constitution. After this there was an Election in June, however, it took some time to form a solid government, with national sports hero Ibrahim Kamza becoming Prime Minister, soon after King Abdin III a cousin of the Abdin family staged a coup, it almost succeeded but was defeated by government forces with help from Procura Natural Gas Company. In 2023, Azim Shadid was elected in the first presidential election promising continued development yet adherence to Islamic values. Since his election, Shadid has declared a state of emergency after leaked documents revealed a Launcheroian invasion plan.

Govermeant

Mallacaland is currently a parliamentary government. The seats in the Mallacaland Parliament are decided by 107 seats divided by how much of the vote is gained in 15 Emirates. The election is decided by whoever gets the most seats in parliament or more likely whoever forms a coalition to win a majority of seats. The seats are decided by multi-member districts based on each emirate in the country, the seats are one per 10,000 so for example in the emirate of Raoued there are only 50,000 people, therefore a party will have to gain 20% for one seat. As well as the 107 seats assigned to each emirate based on population, 15 seats are given to the party with the most votes in every emirate.

Economy

The Economy of Mallacaland has been considered developing by experts as since the Mallacaland War, employment has dropped and with an HDI of 0.599 and an average income of around $7,000 Sanitarian Dollars or $25,000 Mallacaland Marks. Income equality is very high as most wages are at minimum wages, there however is a wealthy 5% of people who make upwards of $100,000, these people mostly are part of the elite royal class or own companies. These companies include United Farm Company produces much of the grain in the country, but besides that, Mallacaland is a capitalist economy. In 2022, Procura created an agreement to extract natural gas within Mallacaland, this is expected to bring much revenue to both parties. Since 2021, the economy has relied to rely on its workers overseas, often in the service sector who send to their families monthly payments, it's estimated that these payments represent a significant portion of the economy.

Geography

Mallacaland is mostly of mountains with a flat coastal plain surrounding the mountains. This flat area is where most people live and where most of Mallacaland's farming and other agricultural industry is based. The mountains are split by the Hassan Peninsula where Mallanca City is as well as where 60% of the population lives. East of the peninsula is where most of the nation's marble quarries are based. Off the East Coast is Jariza Island where most of the fishing industry is based. The H-1 is the main highway going from the Southern Border through Mallancaland City and to the north coast. In the last 10 years, the population has grown by more than 100,000 people, although during the Civil War up to 150,000 people have emigrated to other countries such as Slokais Islands.

Mallacaland has a large number of young people as a population boom has hit the nation. Islam is the official religion of the Emirate and because of that Alcohol is banned as well as other recreational drugs. However, the country has become less strict since the end of the monarchy in 2021.
