Geography[edit | edit source]

Economy[edit | edit source]
South San Fernando has a diverse range of sectors; however, the largest is the advanced industry and computing. Due to silicon deposits in the province, computing companies from across the world have their assembly plants in cities such as San Jose and Lunxi. Additionally, several other technology firms have established operations in the province, drawn by the availability of qualified graduates from universities such as San Jose Polytechnic. In contrast, rural and mountainous areas are known for the production of fruit such as plums and peaches, which contribute to specialty industries in fruit and rice-based alcohols.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
South San Fernando is one of the most diverse provinces due to internal migration, which has created a unique hybrid culture often described as "SOSF" in contemporary media. The largest group is Mestizos at 40.6% of the population, with traditional communities such as Soledad dating back to the 1600s. Ren is the second largest group at 18.3% with much of the population in the suburbs of San Jose and New Liverpool due to settlement patterns and ownership in the 20th century. The third largest ethnic group is Indigenous, with 11.6% mainly located in rural areas, with Madang Bran being traditionally Ambonari and Calhundangra Township being traditionally Pimya. There is also a more diverse urban population in San Jose.
Haesanite's in South San Fernando[edit | edit source]
South San Fernando has the largest number of Haesanites, with around 350,000 identifying as such. Dating back to the 1970's and the mass migration of Haesanites abroad. The Land Act of 1971 opened a large number of tracts for low prices along the Rio Bravos River, which was settled by a large number of farmers from Haesan. Since then, a unique food culture has formed, which combines Haesanite staples such as memilpa with local favorites such as yellow curry chicken and, in sweet form, with mango and plums. In an economic sense, a second wave of immigration brought more educated professionals to work at Slokasian companies, with many of the pioneers of San Jose's tech field being immigrants or the children of immigrants from Haesan.
