The National Reformist Council for the Affairs of State was a Slokais Islands parliamentary body between 1951 and 1967. Created as a replacement for Slokasian Legislature by Juan Costa, the National Reformist Council was made up entirely of NRP members. The NRC was tasked with state planning and management of various state entities. Additionally, the NRC produced The Reforms of Work, People, and Values each year as a legally enforceable code for citizens. On May 19th, 1967, General John Chu of the RPLA Army dissolved the NRC and replaced the body's function with an executive council. Chu himself was removed on June 9th by the United Federation for Liberation.
Powers of Council[edit | edit source]
The NRC had the authority to appoint and remove the heads of any government ministry or affiliated company. The Executive Committee could also remove the President and Prime Minister as they technically confirmed both positions, with a majority of 5 required for all decisions. The Executive Committee also had the authority to veto any legislation from the rest of the NRC. The NRC passed legally binding decrees and laws, with only the military not being accountable, with the authority going to the President.
