Helionexus Energies Group Limited. (commonly known as Helionexus) is a Legionite photovoltaics company, and major manufacturer of photovoltaic cells, solar panels, solar-powered products[1], energy storage systems as well as a developer of utility-scale PV power projects. The company was founded in 1999 in Vertmere by Josiah Meraye, a Legionite Investor and entrepreneur in collaboration with Oscar Ermest, a Legionite engineer and entrepreneur. In 2006 the company went public, trading on the Bayview Stock Exchange. Its current chairman is Walter Ankrav, who succeeded Meraye in 2018 following his retirement and occupation of a non-executive board position. Helionexus' operations are based in Vertmere, Legionas.
Helionexus is considered as one of the trailblazers in advancing new innovations in the photovoltaics sector, with it garnering a reputation as the company producing some of the most energy-efficient solar panels on the market, and it has profited massively off the global shift towards more renewable sources of energy, allowing it to oversee half a decade of impressive growth and robust expansion in operations, from 2014 to 2019, as well as acquisition of Schilde Solar[2] and Menerso Technologies[3] allowing the company to lower manufacturing costs through less dependence on the market for necessary components, as well as diversify operations by entering the energy storage systems, i.e battery, production market[4]. In 2018, Helionexus formed a new subsidiary, HN Helio Electronics, that further expanded Helionexus operations in the solar energy industry, entrenching it as a juggernaut within the Legionite manufacturing sector. Helionexus' general policy in regards to manufacturing operations, in the words of Walter Ankrav has been, "reducing the module cost of our silicon-based photovoltaic modules without sacrificing our trademark energy-efficiency and reliability", of which in 2016 the company had managed to break the ₳1.50 barrier, with current module costs at around ₳1.26 per watt.
Helionexus has partnered with the Legionite government in a series of Public-Private Partnerships in the energy sector, such as in the construction of the Andota I, II and III Solar Parks, with a combined installed capacity of 428 megawatts, in the Greni Region, which Helionexus operates, as well as the Aegir Sea Offshore Solar Farms (ASOSF) project that is currently under construction and is expected to inject an additional 260 megawatts into the Legionite energy grid and power approximately 225,000 homes within the Heski Region fully on renewable energy. Helionexus, in 2020, signed an industry-academia partnership with the National Technical University, an agreement championed and facilitated by the Legionite government through the Ministry of Education and Research, which has facilitated cooperation between the two in various research and development endeavors, as well as facilitating the hiring of talent from the NTU through internship programs as well as a cooperative education program.
- ↑ These include solar water heaters, solar powered pumps, solar powered street lights, solar powered water purification as well as small-scale desalination systems as well as solar powered ventilation and air-conditioning systems, manufactured through its subsidiary, HN Helio Electronics.
- ↑ Schilde Solar was an emerging manufacturer of monocrystalline silicon wafers and necessary in the production of solar panels prior to its acquisition by Helionexus in 2016.
- ↑ Menerso Technologies was a former leader in the manufacture of advanced energy storage systems that was riddled in debt and teetering dangerously close to insolvency prior to its acquisition by Helionexus in 2015.
- ↑ Helionexus made its foray into the battery production market in 2015 through its new subsidiary, HN Menerso Tech.
