Etymology[edit | edit source]
The term "Halls" originated in a 1825 description of the territory, which described the area's narrow river valleys as "Hall's of wonder waiting to be explored". Additionally, in 1840, when Saint Aquinas College was opened in Easton they described the territory as the Hallsland of San Fernando Island. The term stuck and was used by locals until the name became official in 1942 with the founding of the province.
