The Director of the Federal Intelligence Agency serves as the head of the Federal Intelligence Agency (FIA), which is part of the Sanctarian intelligence community. The current Director is Dr. Nicholas Carson, who assumed control of the agency on 01 July 2023. The Director is nominated by the Government of Sanctaria, confirmed by the Sanctarian Senate, and reports directly to the Secretary for Homeland Security.
The Director is responsible for the overall management and operation of the FIA and regularly reports to the Parliament of Sanctaria through its intelligence oversight committees.

The position of Director of the Federal Intelligence Agency was established in December 2022 under the Federal Intelligence Agency Act of 2022, which created the FIA as an independent domestic intelligence and security service, replacing the Homeland Security Bureau of the Sanctarian Federal Police.
The position remained vacant for the agency's initial seven months of operation, during which responsibility for the FIA rested with the Director-General of the Department of Homeland Security. Nicholas Carson became the agency's inaugural Director on 01 July 2023.
Duties[edit | edit source]
Duties of the Director of the FIA include, but are not limited to:
- Management of the Federal Intelligence Agency.
- Principal adviser on domestic intelligence and national security threats to the Secretary for Homeland Security.
- Responsibility for counterintelligence, counterterrorism, and domestic intelligence operations within Sanctaria.
- Coordination with the Sanctarian Intelligence Service, Sanctarian Federal Police, and other relevant government agencies.
- Interface with the Government of Sanctaria, Parliament of Sanctaria, and media outlets when necessary.
