Jasmine Eddington (19 April 1977 - 16 August 2019) was a convicted serial killer in Kerlile, who escaped prison in 2019, crossing into Lauchenoiria and sparking additional problems during the Extradition Crisis. In August 2019, she was extradited to Sanctaria, however during transportation her plane was deliberately crashed by First Officer Maria Cummings. Eddington died along with all on board.

Crimes[edit | edit source]

Between the years of 2006 and 2009, Eddington was responsible for the murder of thirteen boys within Kerlile. Eddington was arrested in November 2019, after kidnapping a thirteen-year-old boy she intended to murder. At the time, Eddington had published a ‘manifesto’ claiming that she intended to kill one boy from each of Kerlile’s sixteen regions, as a ‘punishment’ for the actions of men in the patriarchal countries. The Council of Kerlile condemned her actions at the time, and she was sentenced to life in prison.

Extradition crisis[edit | edit source]

On July 18, 2019, a prison transport carrying Eddington was involved in a crash with a lorry delivering food supplies to border outposts near the Lauchenoirian border. The transport had been transferring Eddington from a Level 5 to a Level 3 detention facility due to worsening health. During the crash, however, Eddington escaped, and crossed the border to Lauchenoiria, which had a blanket ban on extraditions to Kerlile.

Eddington was detained on immigration charges, and sparked a furious debate in Lauchenoiria regarding extradition law. President Alex Marwick encouraged the Federal Parliament of Lauchenoiria to pass a new law allowing the President to extradite to nations with the death penalty in exceptional circumstances. While parliament did indeed pass the law, it was shortly repealed afterwards and Marwick's popularity plummeted due to his handling of the extradition affair. After Lauchenoiria refused to extradite Eddington to Kerlile, her extradition was in turn requested by Sanctaria, which was accepted.

Death[edit | edit source]

After Lauchenoiria accepted Sanctaria's extradition request, Eddington was set to be transferred to Sanctaria via plane. However, en route to Sanctaria, the plane disappeared over the Gregory Mountains. Three days later, the wreckage was found with no survivors. The crash was deemed suspicious and investigated, with investigators eventually finding that the aircraft had been deliberately brought down by First Officer Maria Cummings, discovered to be an extreme xenophobe.
