Amden is an industrial city in northwest Vulkaria, with an estimated population of 306,209 within its administrative limits. The city rests on the intertwined banks of the Amden River and Rinada River.

Administratively, Amden has been an economic and cultural powerhouse in Vulkaria, roughly 32 miles adjacent to the capital city of Vulkar. Amden has been a major economic, industrial and scientific center of Vulkaria with a high concentration of heavy industries and a skilled workforce. The density of heavy industries (predominantly steel production, chemical industry, and coal mining) determined the city's challenging ecological situation.

Since June 2017, Amden and its surrounding areas have been the frontier barrier of the M.L.F. controlled territory. In the ongoing coalition offensive, it has been one of the major sites of fighting, as pro-marxist and M.L.F. separatist forces battle against international military forces for control of the city and surrounding areas.
