Education was a key tenant of Sri Dontak's leadership of the Ambonar Kingdom and thus believed the creation of higher education would create a generation of scholars educated in Revivalist teachings. In 1710, a plot of land in Xulin was set aside with construction starting soon after. In 1714, The Holy College of Ambonar opened it's doors with 1,500 students studying several different disciplines. Students studied a discipline such as agriculture or medicine with a focus on incorporating Revivalist values into there work. The Holy College remained in this model until 1825, when it became Ambonar Connexional University. This was due to the separation of church and state
